I read somewhere recently that motherhood is made up of a million unseen moments.
That line hit me deep. It speaks to all moms, in every season—but as a working mama, it feels especially real.
No one sees that 2 a.m. wake-up when your baby cries out and you stumble in, half-asleep, to soothe them back to sleep. No one knows you stayed up the rest of the night worrying if that fever would break.
When you’re sitting in a meeting across the world, no one cares that you’ve been living out of a suitcase, avoiding texts from home because you’re afraid that slipping into “mom mode” will crack the work face you’ve carefully put on.
You’re trading your time for a paycheck—and that paycheck for the ability to feed, clothe, and care for your child. It’s a wild, exhausting cycle. A necessary one, yes. But still a hard one.
One of my unseen moments happened at the Doha International Airport. I was in the middle of an 8-hour layover, sitting alone at Harrods, eating one of the best sandwiches and fries I’ve ever had. And yet, I felt hollow.
I just sat there, staring into space, thinking—there’s got to be a better way.

I don’t have the answers yet. But I’m sharing this for all the moms out there who are juggling, sacrificing, questioning. Sometimes we make hard choices that don’t make sense in the moment.
If your heart is in the right place, give yourself grace.
I see you. I’m rooting for you. We’re going to figure this out!
